Foot Muscle Pain
Foot muscle pain is usually felt because of tension or overuse of the feet. Many refer to this condition as muscle cramps, leg cramps in particular. Muscle cramps, particularly rendering foot pain are caused by a number of factors such as cold temperature, overexertion or low calcium levels in the body.
Most often, cramps tend to be neglected and treated as not a serious health problem. But even then, you should not neglect it whenever you feel such because it can be a warning to you of a more serious disease condition which may get worse if not detected earlier.

- Vitamin C – Taking it regularly can help prevent muscle cramps including muscles in the foot thus preventing foot muscle pain. Taking it twice a day should be enough to work wonders for your body.
- Sports drink – These drinks contain electrolytes and minerals that are good sources of potassium and sodium which help regulate the contraction of body muscles.
- Toe exercises – Foot muscles are weak if cramps always occur. Toe line exercise can help prevent the cramps. To do the exercise, just raise your foot for about 5 seconds and slowly put it down Repeat this for about 20 times and it should be done two to three times per day.
- Warm compress – if the cramps occur and produce unbearable foot muscle pain you can try to employ and apply warm compress directly to the muscle involved. Keep it warm for about 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat the application for about six times per day until the muscles relaxed.
- Massage the muscle – when you experience foot muscle pain due to cramps you can massage the arch of the foot and the toes for 5 minutes using a local ointment. Using back and forth motion going across the length of the muscle.
- Counter the contraction – through mental conditioning, you can try to slowly relax the muscle and guide it until it is had returned to the normal range of motion.
