Pain and swelling in feet has many causes. If a person is obese, has diabetes, or has a heart condition, he or she may suffer under this pain. If there are times that you may find it hard to wake up every morning, due to the searing pain at the bottom of your feet, you are having a condition called plantar fasciitis. This is because of the overstretching of the plantar fascia- it acts as in impact absorber when you put your feet at work.

If you put too much strain in your feet such as wearing high heel shoes or wearing shoes that are too tight, doing strenuous outdoor activities such as jogging, will make the plantar fascia to overstretch, thus giving you pain and swelling in feet. Women for the sense of fashion often wear high heeled shoes are mostly likely to suffer. For those people who are obese, too much weight will put strain on their feet.

There is also a condition called tendonitis. It is the pain on the lower calf of the feet alongside the Achilles tendon. If you want to make sure that it is Achilles tendonitis, gently press the tendon on your heel up to the calf. If there is pain as you press these regions then you are suffering Achilles tendonitis. To help in easing the pain and swelling in feet, it is advisable to put ice on it or too take pain relieving medicines such as ibuprofen. Do not make stretching movements for this part for it only will cause more damage to the calf of the feet. And you may want to cut your jogging or walking exercise every morning so as to give rest to the overused feet.

Pain and swelling in feet will be avoided if we will follow precautionary measures in our activities. Choosing the right shoes is one of them. Avoid using shoes that are too tight or too tightly. Provide a comfortable environment for your feet, putting pads will also help in managing the stress at the feet. It is alright to have a run or a walk every now and then as a form of exercise but overdoing it will not do you any good.
