Pain in the arches of the feet occurs when there is something wrong with the structure of the feet. The arches of the feet are made up of ligaments or connective tissues that will help support the feet and also the one that absorbs force or impact. This tissue known as plantar fascia acts as a pad that absorbs the impact that we put on our feet. Every time that we step on our foot, an impact is made then the plantar fascia tends to stretch a little. So heavy tasks such as running or jogging for miles will overstretch it, and will result to pain in the arches of the feet.
The cause of foot pain in the arches of the feet is due to muscle strains. Lifting heavy objects, doing normal tasks such as walking, can cause strain to our feet. The muscles attached on the bones tend to tear and causes pain and bleeding. This muscle strains are cause of the too much pressure put on the feet thus damaging the muscles of the feet. The symptoms of having a muscle strain are having open cuts due to the feet injury, there’s also swelling at the foot, and weakening of the muscles.
If the pain in the arches of the feet becomes intense, and you can barely walk you should go to a hospital and be examined by a doctor. You will undergo series of x-rays so that the doctor will know how far the injury is in the muscle, whether it is partially or completely torn. In order to lessen the pain, putting ice on the infected part is advisable. Remember to put a covering on the ice before applying it to the skin. Pain relieving, non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory medicines can also be taken such as ibuprofen and aspirin so as to help with pain. Foot pain treatment should be designed in collaboration with your health care provider. Once you know the underlying cause of foot pain, you are better able to follow a specific foot treatment plan just for that one issue.
Pain in the arches of the feet will be worst if not taken care of in its early stage. An activity that requires stress on the feet should not be encouraged until the pain is totally gone. Rest is also essential for proper and faster recovery.
