Severe Foot Pain

Severe foot pain is a common pain that you often suffer especially if your work requires you to be on your foot for a long period of time, unless of course if you have an injury that does not allow you to use your feet. Most people spend much of their time using their feet that surely makes it stressed. There are many possible causes of suffering from foot pain, some are serious while some are simple that are easily to deal with. You can certainly feel foot pain even if you are just sitting or lying down. It is because of the reason that tissues on your foot are irritated or inflamed that can result to continuous pain in your foot.

Severe foot pain condition can cause heel pain, severe enough to interfere with the mobility of people suffering from it. Possible contributors to foot pain are your activity level, health, injury and the kind of shoes that you wear. Health issues such as diabetes and obesity is the leading cause of foot pain. Also a poor-fitting shoes and wearing shoes that is not fitting for the activity that you are into are also possible causes of foot problems.

There are five preventive ways to be considered in order to avoid suffering from severe foot pain, such as:

1. Avoid walking barefoot – there is a possibility that you could have neuropathy from an unknown cause even if you are not diabetic. Worst is that you may not even know that you have it and you can even walk in the street barefoot without feeling that its hot like you are to fry an egg.
2. Treat foot pain immediately – once your foot starts to aches do some home based treatment such as foot creams or take pain relievers immediately if possible.
3. Wear comfortable shoes – avoid wearing poor-fitted shoes to prevent severe foot pain. For women, avoid wearing high-heeled shoes and sandals if possible.
4. Protect your feet from contaminated water – this is to prevent transmission of fungus that can lead to foot pain.
5. Wash your feet every day with warm water and soap

Severe foot pain is easy to avoid if you educate yourself about it.
